Social Media Marketing Overload: Key to Prevention

When it comes to social media marketing, online marketing, video marketing, email marketing, mobile marketing, text marketing and making it work well together, I can see why some people want to jump in and try to do it all at once.  Some are struggling to get new accounts before they go out of business and they feel pressure to perform.  However, if they think they can attack it all at once, they will get overwhelmed quickly.

Start with your final objectives in mind.  What’s most important?  Are you trying to share your concepts as inexpensively as possible? Are you trying to find more of your ideal customers and avoid the others?  Are you trying to capture more leads? Are you trying to convert those leads into customers online, even while you sleep? Are you trying to get important feedback about your products or services without spending a fortune on research and development?

Pick your primary objectives, and then get the online marketing tools and social media strategies you need to achieve them. Then identify your second objective and your third and so on.  You don’t eat an elephant in one sitting. You eat it one bite after another.    There’s no reason to get overwhelmed if you do it one step at a time and don’t try to bite off more than you can chew.
